Cards from this set of 29 were randomly issued in first series hobby and retail packs at a rate of one in 36 and featured an action shot or group photo from each team in the league. Cards that feature teams that won either their division, their conference or the NBA finals or was the team selected to have the first draft pick in the 1997 NBA Draft are redeemable for various special Mystery Finest cards.
