This six-card set features a selection of Japanese stars actively playing in the Major Leagues at the time of issue. Each card features a swatch of game-used jersey. The cards were distributed in special Stars of Japan packs. Each sealed box of 2001 SP Authentic contained one three-card Stars of Japan pack inside. Though individual Jersey card odds were not announced, the cumulative odds of finding a memorabilia card (ball, base, bat or jersey) from a Stars of Japan packs was 1:12. Ichiro Suzuki's jersey card was not available at time of packout and an exchange card was seeded into packs in it's place. The exchange card had a redemption deadline of August 30th, 2004. Though not serial-numbered, officials at Upper Deck announced that only 260 copies of Ichiro's jersey card were produced. [Collapse]
