These cards were distributed to dealers and hobby media prior to the release of 1996 Score baseball. The cards are similar in design to basic Dugout Collection cards, except for the "SAMPLE" text running diagonally across the front and back. The Dugout Collection Samples were seeded at a rate of one per nine-card 1996 Score Sample cello pack.
