This 25-card set of the Seattle ballclub of the Pacific Coast League was distributed to the public as inserts in boxes of popcorn sold at Sicks' Stadium in Seattle. Only one card was inserted per box and measured approximately 2" by 3". The sets were produced by the ballclub and issued each season from 1954 through 1968. Since Seattle's major league affiliation switched from the Boston Red Sox to the California Angels, their name was changed from the "Rainiers" to the "Angels" for 1965. The fronts feature a black-and-white player photo with the player's name printed at the bottom. The backs carry an advertisement for radio station KVI 570 which carried Seattle's games. Since KVI is the only sponsor, this is how a collector can tell it is a 1965 card. Some cards are currently only known to exist in blank-back form. The cards are unnumbered and checklisted below in alphabetical order. [Collapse]
