This 1931 set of numbered, blank-backed cards was placed in the "W~ category in the original American Card Catalog because (1) its producer was unknown and (2) it was issued in strips of three. The cards are numbered in a small circle on the front. A solid dark line at one end of a card entitled the purchaser to another piece of candy as a prize. There are two different cards of both Babe Ruth and Mickey Cochrane. There may be other variations in this set: such as cards without numbers (e.g., Paul Waner and Dazzy Vance) as well as Chalmer Cissell with both Chicago and Cleveland, Chick Hafey with both the Cardinals and Cincinnati, and George Kelly and Lefty O'Doul with Brooklyn.
