Cards marked with S1 or S2 followed by an asterisk can be found with both a blue background and a more common pastel background. Cards marked with S3 followed with an asterisk are found with either a blue or black printed Sporting Life advertisement on the reverse. McConnell appears with both Boston AL (common) and Chicago White Sox (scarce). Pricing is unavailable on the McConnell White Sox card, but a copy was sold at auction in 2007 graded EX+ by SGC for $31,024. McQuillan appears with Phillies (common) and Cincinnati (scarce). A card featuring Johnny Bates as a member of the Cincinnati Reds was recently discovered, and the first known copy sold for slightly more than $20,000 early in 2006. [Collapse]
