The 1949 Bowman Pacific Coast League set is recognized as one of the scarcest sets of the post-war period. Each card measures 2 1/16" by 2 1/2". Marketed regionally on the West Coast, it is thought that it may have been sold in sheets in candy and variety stores rather than in gum packs. The format of tinted photographs on colored backgrounds is identical to the regular 1949 Bowman issue.
