New batch of Will Ferrell MLB auctions give fans all the cowbell they need — and much more

With Will Ferrell‘s Ferrell Takes the Field special less than two weeks away, there’s a whole new selection of signed items available via MLB Auctions on MLB.com — and there’s one thing that it won’t need.
A series of 10 fully licensed and autographed MLB cowbells showing Ferrell– one for each team he played for during a single game in spring training earlier this year — are among the items up for grabs. Also in the lineup? A signed Will “Campy” Ferrell bat, three pairs of his game-used/issued pants and even a series of signed jumbo prints of his popular Topps baseball cards from 2015 Topps Archives.
All net proceeds from the sales of the 25 lots will benefit Cancer for College and Stand Up 2 Cancer, the two organizations that Ferrell and MLB worked with as part of this publicity stunt.
The “super-sized” baseball cards are 20- by 28-inch replicas of his 10 cards from Archives and will be signed. Bidding on each of them opened at $100 with the Cubs card the current leader at $500. A set of 10 signed cowbells presently sits at $1,000, while individual cowbells started at $100.
Ferrell Takes the Field will premiere on HBO at 10 p.m. on Sept. 12. Eastern. Each of the auctions closes before the show that evening.
