CHICAGO | Ken Tyler felt lucky at his first National.

He had three entries into the Famous Fabrics giveaway of a Beatles cut autograph card that featured all four members of the band at the 2013 National Sports Collectors Convention.

The Texas resident waited at In The Game’s booth as Dr. Brian Price eliminated eight other entries from the contest. Finally, with two just two boxes left in the contest, Ken was ready …

“The next number eliminated is 23,” Price said.

That meant the one number left was 87, one of the three Ken had been holding.

“This is the best hit of my life by far,” Ken, 47, said.

The redemptions for the contest were found in Famous Fabrics’ Music, Music, Music product. Ninety redemptions were placed into the product and every month, 10 were eliminated until there were just 10 left for the NSCC.

Ken bought the product for Buddy Holly memorabilia and while he’s still a cut autograph shy of completing the Holly collection, the Beatles cut card is a good addition.

Watch the video above to see the contest and Ken’s stunned reaction to winning.

That’s pretty cool. At first I thought he didn’t seem excited enough, then I realized he is probubly in shock!

Yeah, the guy was in shock. After the camera was off, I was watching his hands and they couldn’t stop shaking.
