Upper Deck rewards collectors with Barack Obama victory card
Upper Deck is producing one last card in is Presidential Predictors set — this one a Presidential Victor — that will only be available at a select number of hobby shops as rewards for those who purchase Upper Deck products.
The company released information on the cards Wednesday evening, noting that the shops that will have the card will receive no more than 100 copies.
“The best way for us to bring our ‘Presidential Predictor’ series come to a logical end was to release a ‘Presidential Victor’ card showing the winner,” said Chris Carlin, Upper Deck’s hobby marketing manager. “We are happy to work with our most supportive hobby shops to provide them with these unique cards, which they can share with their customers. No matter which party you supported, this was a historic election, and this card represents a great way for Upper Deck to commemorate the 2008 Presidential race.”

Card PV-1’s illustration by San Diego-based artist Court Jones is based on the post-game Gatorade shower that Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy received after his team’s 29-17 victory in Super Bowl 41. To Obama’s right is Vice President-Elect Joe Biden and at his left is his wife, Michelle. Dungy’s victory also was historic in that he was the first African-American coach to win the big game.
