For collectors attending the 2017 NHL Fan Fair that is being held in conjunction with the 2017 NHL All-Star Game in Los Angeles this weekend, there is an opportunity to interact with staff from Upper Deck at the company’s booth and participate in a variety of hobby-friendly activities.
Generating a great deal of excitement will be an appearance by New Jersey Devils star Taylor Hall. He will be signing special 5″ x 7″ promotional cards on Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at no cost to fans. However, it should be noted that outside items will not be signed at this event.
Those that make qualifying purchases of 2016-17 Upper Deck hockey products at booths for The Bullpen, Jaspy’s Hobbyland, or KT Authentics will be able to either have a personalized trading card made or play the always-popular Puck-O game for a chance to win some prizes.
In order to get a personalized card at the 2017 NHL Fan Fair, fans will need to purchase either two packs of 2016-17 Upper Deck MVP or one pack of 2016-17 Upper Deck Artifacts or 2016-17 Upper Deck Trilogy at one of the previously mentioned dealer booths. From that point, they must open them in front of an Upper Deck employee and hand over the wrappers before they can have the photo taken for their card.
Should the lines be as busy as expected, collectors can also opt to crack open a sealed box of either 2016-17 Artifacts or Trilogy to get head of the line privileges.
For those opting to play Puck-O instead for a shot at autograph or memorabilia cards, they can break open a pack of this year’s Artifacts or Trilogy or a 2016-17 Upper Deck Series One Starter Kit for a single puck drop. To drop six pucks, they will need to break open boxes of 2016-17 Artifacts or 2016-17 Trilogy or a pack of 2016-17 Black Diamond, 2015-16 UD Black, 2015-16 Upper Deck Premier, or 2015-16 Upper Deck Ultimate.
Upper Deck will also be helping promote the hobby to new collectors at the 2017 NHL Fan Fair. Collector guides are going to be handed out to kids along with binders and sample cards. Collectors of all ages will get a chance to check out Upper Deck e-Pack along with premium items from Upper Deck Authenticated.
