Upper Deck reveals more in SP Authentic
By Susan Lulgjuraj | Contributing Editor
When 2011-12 NHL SP Authentic hits the streets tomorrow, some collectors might find extra autographs in their boxes – which might cause a little confusion.
In the newest SP Authentic are cards that were intended for last year’s product, but because the cards came in so late, Upper Deck removed what would have been redemption cards in an effort to reduce the amount of redemptions found in the product, according to a company spokesperson.
The company removed what are now being called 2010-11 SP Authentic Update Autographs and added them to this year’s SP Authentic.
It didn’t receive the cards until after pack out last year and the cards have not been offered in any other capacity until now.
These cards are included on top of the other planned content for SP Authentic, which could lead to extra hits.
In addition to information on these cards, Upper Deck has also released odds for the Sign of the Times autographs and have broken them down into groups.
Take a look at several of the checklists from 2011-12 NHL SP Authentic with information on the Update Autographs and odds for Signs of the Time after the jump.

That is outstanding, how much for a hobby box ?
Depends on the retailer, but pre-sales for a hobby box are around $115 or so.
im so sick of redemptions., every company should do this every year. period.
19.99 hobby boxy
I only care about the base set which I like to use for through the mail autographs, and I really like the design.
If the insertion of “old” autographs is an addition (not instead of actual 2011-12 cards), it is great information. Honestly, I don’t like UD somehow extra, mainly because they (or their former boss) were at the start of that doomed thing called exclusive licence. On the other hand, I like how they are able to work with updates – like e.g. Victory through UD2 and now this with SPA. I will bet my collection they will balance all these good things by something bad – killing some great sets, like Ice or MVP recently…
