Upper Deck Gives Collectors a Sneak Peek at 2014-15 Young Guns

Now heading into its 25th season, the traditional hockey set from Upper Deck has a long and storied tradition which is rarely matched in the trading card industry.
Traditionally released in early November, 2014-15 Upper Deck Hockey Series One is set to feature many top rookie performers on shortprinted Young Guns cards. Two members of this year’s crop have been revealed through a post on the company’s blog.
Rookie card enthusiasts will be pleased to see that Evgeny Kuznetsov of the Washington Capitals is part of the lineup. He started the 2013-14 season with Chelyabinsk of the KHL before making his NHL debut in a loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on March 10, 2014. Just four days later, the former first round pick (26th overall in 2010) recorded three assists while facing the Vancouver Canucks.
The other Young Guns card that Upper Deck unveiled was of Teuvo Teravainen, who is a promising talent for the Chicago Blackhawks. A first rounder in 2012, he honed his skills with Jokerit in his native Finland before joining the team on March 25. He went pointless over three games, but later had a pair of goals over five games with the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs.
Upper Deck also revealed their base set design, which will undoubtedly feature top-notch game action photography of some of the game’s biggest stars.
Over the next few months, expect the company to release further details about what collectors can expect to find in packs and boxes.
