sppriceUpper Deck announced on Thursday that it included two more sport-printed cards in its 2009 Series 1 baseball set — a card of Tampa Bay Rays pitcher David Price (No. 401) and a card featuring Michael Jordan and Ken Griffey Jr. in their Chicago White Sox uniforms.

The news comes on the heels of a Joe DiMaggio card announced on Thursday.

“Upper Deck produced the first David Price card ever back in 2005 when he was a member of USA Baseball,” said Jason Masherah, Upper Deck’s senior brand manager. “Having watched him develop into a top pitching talent over the years made us want to do something a little different with his first rookie card. We think this variation will help create some additional interest without compromising the integrity of the base set.”

upper deck is just so boring. baseball cards in general are becoming boring. too many products out there. sticker autographs. not enough bang for the buck. maybe it’s time to move on from the hobby
