Upper Deck Cancels 2020-21 Ice, Pushes Back 2021-22 Series 1 Hockey
2020-21 Upper Deck Ice Hockey isn’t happening. Neither is 2021-22 Upper Deck Trilogy Hockey, but that set was never formally announced. Those aren’t the only major changes to the card maker’s schedule. 2021-22 Upper Deck Series 1 Hockey is shifting from its traditional November release window to December.
In a statement released by the company on Twitter, the company cites production and supply chain issues. Seeing that this will likely continue for several more months, it led to the changes.

Early details for 2020-21 Ice had originally been announced back in the spring. There’s no word yet on what may come of any content that was already signed or produced, if any such cards exist.
In recent months, several products have been pushed back, not just in hockey but with virtually all sports from all manufacturers.
Typically, Upper Deck’s first NHL products arrive a couple of months before the start of the season. That’s not the case for 2021-22. Although the season kicked off last week, the first major release will be 2021-22 Upper Deck Tim Hortons, which is slated to come out on October 27.
Upper Deck still has a handful of 2020-21 hockey card sets in production.
Usually, Upper Deck Series 1 comes out in mid-November, coinciding with the Toronto Fall Expo. This year when the show runs from November 11-14.
