Upper Deck announces Montreal Canadiens promotional set for L’Anti Expo
By Stephen Laroche | Beckett Hockey Editor
Upper Deck will be in attendance at the upcoming 2017 L’Anti Expo in Montreal on September 30 and October 1, and they are bringing collectors that attend a special redemption program which has roots in one of the one of the most popular and desirable hockey card products of the last decade – the 2008-09 Upper Deck Montreal Canadiens Centennial set.
In that release, the last 14 cards of the set were dedicated to the greatest moments in franchise history and that design has been resurrected for this eight-card promotional set, which was created for the show in conjunction with Universal Distribution and Grosnor Distribution.
In order to get a full set of cards that look back at the best moments that took place between 2008-09 and 2016-17, collectors attending L’Anti Expo must break 10 sealed packs purchased from a Certified Diamond Dealer on the floor of the following Upper Deck products at the company’s booth: 2017-18 O-Pee-Chee, 2017-18 Upper Deck MVP, 2017-18 Upper Deck Team Canada World Juniors, 2016-17 Fleer Showcase, and 2016-17 Upper Deck ICE.
Additionally, there will be a special card “0” of new Canadiens talent Jonathan Drouin on the ice in his new uniform. Getting one will be a challenge as they are randomly inserted into packs. Redemption sets will only be available while supplies last and collectors can receive a maximum of five sets per day of the show. The 2017 L’Anti Expo is being held at the Andre-Grasset College.
