U.S. Postal Service releases MLB stamps today
By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor
Been to the post office lately?
If not and you’re a baseball fan, you have four reasons to do so starting today as a series of MLB All-Stars Forever stamps is now available featuring four Hall of Famers — Ted Williams, Joe DiMaggio, Willie Stargell and Larry Doby.
These Forever stamps will cost $1.80 for a block of four or $9 for a pane of 20.
“Today the Postal Service honors the memory of four great players whose unchanging dreams and exceptional skills propelled them to success,” said Postmaster General Patrick Donahoe at one of five ceremonies (each player’s city and in Cooperstown) unveiling the stamps today. “We’re pleased to honor baseball and these four excellent players, especially since the sport reflects so much of what is unique in American culture.”
For those interested in more, the U.S. Postal Service also is offering a set of traditional first-day covers ($3.56 per set), an uncut press sheet ($54), a set of digital color postmark first-day covers ($6.40) and more.

This is awesome. I hope they keep this up and eventually throw some Chicago Cubs in there.

Very cool and a continuing American tradition, definitely throw some Cubbies in!
Time to head to the post office and get some more stamps. I am so glad that they made them Forever stamps too, as I can buy a bunch of them and actually use them without having to worry about needing to buy more postage later.
