Topps is going high-end once again with its baseball cards.

The company offered the first visual teases of 2014 Topps Dynasty on Thursday, posting the image above via its social media accounts. No details have been released for the brand at this time.

Three years ago, Topps released its most-expensive high-end baseball brand Five Star, which carried a $500 per box price tag. Is there room for another high-end brand? Tell us via our polls below and in the comments if you have even more to say.

Immediately, this looks like a beautiful high-end release. My first impression is the dark / black background with sepia-toned images, on-card silver (and gold?) autographs, with generous relic swatches is 100% full of baseball cardboard win! I collect it all, and there is always room for an increase in extremely well done, high-end “hit” releases. Bravo and I vote, yay!

I voted need to see more and no for more high end. From what is shown, this looks like a really cool product that may have some cards I’d like to chase. All I ask is that if the box costs $xxx, that is the value you can expect from the cards inside and that there be absolutly no redemptions

Problem with high end (from this consumer / collector standpoint) is that there are usually only a couple or small group of cards I’d like to own from high end. I’m not breaking boxes or even packs chasing them though.

Nice product Topps (from what I can see / know).

Although first peak looks great, Topps really needs to do more at the low end. With this economy the way it is, we will never get the kids or collectors on a budget back into the hobby. If the companies don’t start thinking along these lines, this is going to quickly become a rich man’s gig. It’s already well on its’ way.

Didn’t we just have a great article about the evil “Breakers” and how they are a menace to the Hobby industry?

Well who does Topps think will buy this product by the case, Breakers, that’s right!

We all know that this product will not only be high-end but will probably be very high end. I seriously doubt that my grandson and two of his friends will go half on a box (pack) of this product.

What Topps should do is announce that the Dynasty product will now be inserted into the Series II product. Smell the firestorm in sales?

It never ceases to amaze me how these marketing companies can’t market. They just produce more product with business sales percentages in front of them determining what is the profit margin break at, then produce more of it. By product manipulation they could vastly improve not only their product, they could definitely increase sales to the bottom line. Solving these corporate problems should only take a little effort and thought.

    Peace
