Checklist: 2009 Topps Nickname Letter Patches

Topps released a checklist for its Nickname Letter Patches found in its newly released 2009 baseball set. Each manufactured letter spells out a name or phrase associated with the player. Each letter card is limited to just 50.

Here are the details:

LGCP-BG — Bob Gibson, St. Louis Cardinals: GIBBY

LGCP-BR — Babe Ruth New York Yankees: BAMBINO

LGCP-CM — Christy Mathewson New York Giants: BIG SIX

LGCP-CMY — Carl Yastrzemski Boston Red Sox: YAZ

LGCP-CR — Cal Ripken Jr. Baltimore Orioles: IRON MAN

LGCP-CY — Cy Young Cleveland Naps: CYCLONE

LGCP-GS — George Sisler St. Louis Browns: GORGEOUS

LGCP-HW — Honus Wagner Pittsburgh Pirates: DUTCHMAN

LGCP-JF — Jimmie Foxx Philadelphia Athletics: THE BEAST

LGCP-JM — Johnny Mize St. Louis Cardinals: THE BIG CAT

LGCP-JR — Jackie Robinson Brooklyn Dodgers: JACKIE

    I like the new 2009 Topps product. The letter patch cards being limited to only 50 makes a set unique (with The Ryan Express, since there are 3 E’s, that means that there can only be 16 sets put together). Finding a complete set is challenging, though.
