Topps appoints new VP for sports and entertainment

By Chris Olds | Baseball Editor

Topps announced that it has a new Vice President and General Manager of its sports and entertainment divisions on Monday.

Doug Kruep, who previously worked for the Jarden Corporation where he served as Vice President and General Manager for its games and crafts division, will manage the company’s lines in the United States. He will oversee brand management, product development, operations, finance and more, according to the company.

He will report to Topps CEO and President Ryan O’Hara.

“Doug brings a mix of core management and marketing skills, energy and innovation to Topps,” O’Hara said.  “His background and experience is ideally suited for the job and we’re excited about his joining Topps at the ideal juncture.”

Kruep previously worked for Sanford Brands and the Tommy Armour Golf Company.

atcollectible – Tracy Hackler works for Panini and collects…1 out of a few thousand, but at least its 1. AND, I must say, Panini’s offerings have slowly become better since he was hired (IMO).

Their offerings may have become better, but their customer service has drastically declined, like to lower than upper deck levels.

Topps is getting down there now too

I agree with aht Logan said. I think ALL their customer service is crap. I have been trying to get ahold of Panini’s customer service dept. now for more than two months after I was told by Art that he would call back over issues and then never did. Its all a really long story but I guess you can do what you want when your the only card manufacturer.
