2026 Bowman Chrome Crystallized #BWC19 Shohei Ohtani

Greatness on the Major League Baseball diamond does not get much better than what fans and collectors are seeing in Shohei Ohtani.

Ohtani’s nine years in the league have ignited comparisons to all-time greats like Babe Ruth – and for good reason. The Japanese-born talent captured 2018 AL Rookie of the Year with the Los Angeles Angels, has earned six All-Game Selections, been awarded four Silver Slugger honors, and has claimed four league MVP trophies (2021, 2023, 2024, 2025), two with the Angels and two with the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The 32-year-old two-way talent is again in early talks for a fifth MVP award. At the plate, he enters the All-Star break batting .293 with 22 home runs, 58 RBI, and 65 runs scored. On the mound, Ohtani owns an 8-2 record through 85.2 innings with 95 strikeouts against just 26 walks.

In the hobby – collectors are loving it.

Because Ohtani is atop the MLB universe, both in the U.S. and abroad, the valuations for his cards continue to rise.

Looking solely at 2026 Topps and Bowman releases in Gem Mint condition, the five highest reported public sales of “Shotime” cards are bringing in consistent five-figure sales.

The Top Five 2026 Ohtani Card Sales

2026 Topps 75 Years of Topps Die-Cut Autographs Foilfractors #75YASO Shohei Ohtani 1/1

Kicking off our list on the “low end” is a truly rare and unique card – and being a 1/1 is just one part of the bigger inimitable chase puzzle.

Highlights:

  • Ohtani’s signature in blue ink
  • Die-cut design
  • Commemorating Topps’ 75th anniversary

On May 9, Pristine Auction showcased this Ohtani masterpiece. The authenticated card, which received a PSA/DNA Gem Mint 10 on the autograph grade, sold for $33,783.75.

2026 Bowman Chrome Anime Black Refractors #BA26 Shohei Ohtani /10

Bowman picked a select group of players to include in their Anime Black Refractors insert set. The checklist is 29 players long, which includes Rickey Henderson, Joey Votto, Jac Caglianone, Jesus Made, Hideo Nomo, and Munetaka Murakami, among others.

Sidenote – the Jackie Robinson examples are amazing.

Back to the current Dodger taking the world by storm – Ohtani.

A Chrome Anime Black Refractors #BA26 Ohtani /10 example was realized on June 19 during a Fanatics Premier auction for $36,000.

No other examples of this card have been sold on a public platform – a high bar has been set for future collectors.

Keeping in baseball, the next highest reported sale of a 2026 Bowman Chrome Anime Black Refractors is a #BA4 Aaron Judge PSA 10, which sold via Alt on July 2 for $10,200.

2026 Topps ’91 Topps Autographs Platinum #91ASO Shohei Ohtani 1/1

Take a good look at this card because it is conceivable that the general public may never see it offered for sale again. Once in a collection, one-of-one cards of a player of Ohtani’s caliber tend to never surface again.

The thought of being able to land a rare, autographed Ohtani card moved a buyer to scoop up a Near Mint 7, PSA/DNA 10 for $47,590 during a May 10 Goldin auction.

Sharing additional 2026 Topps release knowledge (not including Bowman), to date there are 76 cards bearing Ohtani’s signature. Of the 76 cards, 17 are 1/1s.

We have a card label debate, or situation, however one wants to term it.

The listing on Goldin for the card: “2026 Topps ’91 Topps Autographs Platinum #91A-SO Shohei Ohtani Signed Card.”

The PSA card label: 2026 Topps #SO Shohei Ohtani 1991 Topps Auto-Plat 1/1.

Beckett Online Price Guide (OPG): 2026 Topps ’91 Topps Autographs Foilfractors #91ASO Shohei Ohtani.

Beckett Online Price Guide (2nd listing): 2026 Topps Rounding the Bases Autographs Platinum #RTBSO Shohei Ohtani 1/1.

If you are confused – that is okay – information to the public has been mixed up.

The sales sheet for Series 1 listed the card as Foilfractors – which it is not. The Topps “Odds Sheet,” however, has the card listed as Platinum – and that it is.

Continuing with the OPG, there are five cards with “’91 Autograph Ohtani” in the database. The 2026 Topps ’91 Topps Autographs #91ASO Shohei Ohtani is the only release without an announced print run. The other three include Orange Foil (/25), Black Foil (/10), and Red Foil (/5).

2026 Topps All Kings #AK4 Shohei Ohtani

The financial storyline on All Kings #AK4 Ohtani continues to be written and could change at some point today.

The positive – if in possession of a Gem Mint, Pristine, or Black Label example of this card, that is as good as $35,000-plus in the bank – for now.

On the potential downside – as more people open new packs, supply floods the market which could lower demand over time. And unlike some of the other featured cards on this list, this copy is not a serial numbered release with a definitive print run.

Back to the positives.

On the high end, during a Fanatics Premier auction on June 14, a seller earned $48,000 for their Gem Mint PSA example. However, buyer and seller beware – the sale price of this card has fluctuated greatly since May after establishing a $20,000 base in April.

  • April 11 – eBay – $20,000
  • May 10 – Fanatics Weekly – $26,400
  • May 14 – Alt – $36,000
  • June 14 – Fanatics Weekly – $48,000
  • June 21 – Fanatics Weekly – $43,200

2026 Bowman Chrome Final Draft Superfractors #FD11 Shohei Ohtani 1/1

One does not want to be hyperbolic about Ohtani cards, but pulling a Superfractors 1/1 of “The Unicorn” has the feel of a once in a lifetime moment for the general collecting public – which makes it a really big deal. With that in mind, parting with a 1/1 did not come cheaply for a collector.

Topping the list for the most expense Ohtani card from products released in this calendar year to date: 2026 Bowman Chrome Final Draft Superfractors #FD11 Ohtani.

Sale price? $75,000.

During a Fanatics Premier auction on June 19, this cardboard unicorn found a new home.

The #FD11 Ohtani 1/1 is part of a 20-card Bowman Chrome Final Draft Superfractors set. The line features a mix of Hall of Fame players, legends, current All-Stars, and rookies. In the 20-card mix: Derek Jeter, Ken Griffey Jr., Konnor Griffin, Bryce Harper, Manny Ramirez, Mark McGwire, Elly De La Cruz, and Paul Skenes.

That Anime /10 was mine. One thing you failed to mention is that it was a PSA 10 as well! 😎 what’s wild is that I just started getting into breaks really back in May. I’ve since hit the Ohtani Patchwork SSP and literally today got the Ohtani Diamond Dust Topps SSP. It’s been fun!

Derek, what an amazing Ohtani run you are on right now. Congrats! Wishing you and all collectors continued luck with pulling hits. Shared in the section leading into the listing, all the cards selected for the article were in Gem Mint condition, which is a PSA 10.

      Thanks for reading and commenting.
