2025-26 Topps Chrome Image Variations Orange Speckle #88 Cade Cunningham /25

The excitement for the release of 2025-26 Topps Basketball has not slowed since the flagship product hit the shelves on Oct. 23 with the Chrome edition landing on Dec. 18. One of the driving reasons behind the continued enthusiasm, the wide variety of inserts, parallels and variations collectors can land with every box opening and ripped pack.

Even with the most unlikely odds of a pull, the desire to get that rare SSP only found in 1 of 254,668 packs, those rare cards have to be in one lucky pack somewhere – thus the ripping adventure continues.

A popular commodity for collectors are the Image Variations, which include Speckle Refractors, Green (/99), Gold (/50), Orange (/25), Black (/10), Red (/5), Superfractors (1/1), and (plain) Image Variations.

Diving into the trend, some of the top finds posted on secondary platforms are shared along with their sale or asking price.

Top Image Variation Cards

Green Speckle

Contending for a fourth MVP award, Nikola Jokic’s knee injury in late December could derail a magical season for the center and the Denver Nuggets. Jokic was averaging a rare triple-double for the season leading the league in rebounds (12.2) and assists (11.0), and was fifth in scoring (29.6). Eleven years into his career and the injury aside, Joker cards can still command a heavy price tag – $750.

Gold Speckle

Destined to be his league one day… maybe sooner than later, the asking price for this Image Variations Gold Speckle Refractors #221 Victor Wembanyama is $4,500.

Kon Knueppel didn’t enter the 2025 NBA Draft with the fanfare of his Duke teammate Cooper Flagg, but Charlotte’s smooth shooting small forward has put the league on notice. This /50 Gold Speckle was posted for $3,499.

Orange Speckle

While the rest of the NBA is fighting for his throne, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander still reigns supreme. SGA is vying for consecutive scoring titles, MVPs, and Larry O’Brien trophies. His Orange Speckle /25 was picked up on a steal in mid-December for $675.

Black Speckle

A rookie to put on your radar, Derik Queen. Queen left Maryland after his freshman year and has taken to the professional game in a hurry. The center/power forward is a double-double machine for the Pelicans. The sold for price for Queen’s Black Speckle /10 was $2,499.

Superfractor

Brooklyn Nets fans await Danny Wolf’s impact on the NBA. As is, the former Yale-Michigan power forward/center is learning the professional ropes, starting 4 of 26 games thus far during his rookie season. That has not tempered enthusiasm, or hopeful enthusiasm, in the hobby. Wolf’s Superfractor (1/1) can be purchased for a cool $7,900 on eBay.

Image Variation

Not all Topps Chrome variation cards have the glittery shine but that doesn’t necessarily mean the value is gone. Take the top pick in the 2025 draft, who is likely on his way to Rookie of the Year honors, match that with an image variation and one lucky ripper sold a card online for $279.99.

Hey nice article I picked up on a couple Stephen Curry cards like that, they are sweet. I love Beckett saw you got acquired by psa not bad they’ll treat you well haha hope so anyway they should be about it. Go warriors and NBA love this generational talent some of the real players are really doing it big. Though they’re getting old new class needs like way more love Lebron’s retiring in like no years. Crazy stuff.
