Ultimate Guide to Tom Brady Rookie Autograph Cards
Although he has no shortage of Rookie Cards, the number of different Tom Brady rookie autographs is actually quite small. The legend’s signature appeared in just six different products during his first NFL season.
Once you factor in parallels, there are just 13 Tom Brady rookie autographs. At one time, putting together a full run was plausible. Today, a combination of scarcity and massive prices make it an extremely tough task.
There’s a lot to notice about these first few autograph cards. All are on-card, which is a major plus for many. As for Brady himself, most of his rookie signatures show him in his Michigan gear. The only exceptions are the two found in 2000 Playoff Contenders.
At this point, any Tom Brady autograph is special, not to mention valuable. But there’s something about his earliest signatures that carry that little bit of extra history.
Here’s a look at all of the Tom Brady rookie autographs.
Tom Brady Rookie Autographs Checklist and Details
2000 Crown Royale Rookie Autographs Tom Brady #110
As far as general layout and design goes, this looks almost identical to Brady’s Crown Royale Rookie Card. But these couple of features are important to recognize a pack-pulled autograph versus an aftermarket signature (or potentially one that’s fake). The biggest thing is the “Pacific Authentic Autograph” stamp on the bottom. The crown background is also a telltale sign, appearing more bronze than the base version’s silver. The die-cut crown is easily the most noticeable feature when you compare it to Brady’s other early signature cards.

2000 Fleer Tradition Autographics Tom Brady #17
Autographics is one of the iconic names when it comes to early hits. It may have made the biggest impact in basketball, but it left its mark on the gridiron as well over a handful of years. Cards were spread across almost the entire Fleer football portfolio that year, making for a massive set of nearly 150 players. Not surprisingly, Brady tops them all. The most noticeable differences for the Silver and Gold parallels are the serial numbers on the side of the card.

2000 Pacific Autographs Tom Brady #403

2000 Playoff Contenders Tom Brady RC #144
2000 Playoff Contenders Football is the only set to have an autographed Tom Brady Rookie Card that’s part of its base set. All of the quarterback’s other signatures from his first season are classified as inserts. That doesn’t take away from them or their value, but it does lend some added prestige to this one. Simply put, it’s Tom Brady’s most important Rookie Card. It’s also a benchmark for all football cards, period. Top-condition copies are easy six-figure sellers. But given its popularity and value, it’s important to beware of fakes.

2000 Playoff Contenders Round Numbers Autographs Tom Brady/Marc Bulger #RN11
If this card is any indication of the expectations for Tom Brady, it shows that they weren’t very high. He’s not only sharing the card with Marc Bulger, a solid but not spectacular QB, but Brady’s found on the back.

2000 Press Pass Autographs Tom Brady #3
Autographs were a central part of 2000 Press Pass Football with three signed cards in each hobby box. Like almost all of the Tom Brady autographs from 2000, he’s shown in his college threads. However, because this is a college-themed set, it’s a more natural look than other that integrate NFL marks and logos into the mix.

2000 Score Rookie Preview Autographs Tom Brady #SR41
Rookie Preview Autographs were somewhat tough pulls back in the day, landing 1:70 hobby packs. However, at the time, they were a lot more affordable. Although not numbered, it’s believed that players signed between 300 and 700 copies. With just 50 copies, the Rookie Roll Call parallel ties his Fleer Tradition Autographics Gold as the rarest serial numbered Tom Brady rookie autographs.
