The Most Valuable Mickey Mouse Trading Cards
Mickey Mouse was born during one of the lowest points of Walt Disney’s creative life. Now universally recognized throughout the world, the iconic cartoon character has become symbolic of American culture – and a popular figure in the trading card industry. As the anchor for various Topps Disney products and iterations of the Disney Lorcana TCG, the most valuable Mickey Mouse cards solidify the continued staying power of a cartoon character who debuted nearly 100 years ago.
Mickey’s original name was Mortimer Mouse, but Disney renamed the character at the urging of his wife, Lillian. Under the new moniker, Mickey Mouse made his screen debut in a silent short “Steamboat Willie” at New York’s Colony Theater on September 28, 1928. Two months later, Disney provided the mouse’s now-famous falsetto voice in a re-release of the short that included sound.
Fans quickly joined the Mickey Mouse Club in droves. Membership in the first iteration of the club, founded in 1930, reached more than 1 million after only two years, and Mickey Mouse’s popularity has yet to wane.
“Mickey Mouse, to me, is the symbol of independence. He was a means to an end,” Disney once recalled. “He popped out of my mind onto a drawing pad 20 years ago on a train ride from Manhattan to Hollywood at a time when (the) business fortunes of my brother Roy and myself were at lowest ebb, and disaster seemed right around the corner. Born of necessity, the little fellow literally freed us of immediate worry.”
Decades later, even casual collectors can’t help but smile if they pull a Mickey Mouse card, and the beloved rodent is such an iconic star that his best cards sell for five figures.

5. 2024 Disney Lorcana Challenge Event Promos #5C1 Mickey Mouse – Brave Little Tailor SERIAL GOLD FOIL P/(Top 8 Prize)
Awarded to the top eight finishers at select Disney Lorcana tournaments, this Mickey Mouse prize card racked up the bids at Goldin Auctions in July 2024, selling for $29,280. The gold foil card is numbered to /500 and depicts Mickey Mouse as he appeared in the 1938 Disney short “Brave Little Tailor.” This example earned a BGS Pristine (10) designation and is currently ranked as the second-highest sale of an individual Disney Lorcana card.
4. 2025 Topps Disney Genesis Silver Circles 1/1 #21
Topps Disney Genesis was designed as a premium collecting experience for entertainment fans. Every card in the product is numbered to /99 or fewer, and it rolls characters from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, and Lucasfilm franchises into a single product. The rarest parallel is the 1/1 Silver Circles, and Mickey Mouse’s card sold for $30,553.68 at Goldin in October 2025, making it the most expensive card from the product.

3. 2024 Topps Chrome UK Disney Magical Mickey Superfractors 1/1 #MM1
Topps paid special tribute to Mickey Mouse with his own Magical Mickey insert card in 2024 Topps Chrome UK Disney, and the 1/1 Superfractor commanded plenty of attention when it went up for auction at Goldin in May 2025. Featuring a framed closeup animation of Mickey’s head, this card sold for $31,720. It also ranks third all-time among 2024 Topps Chrome Disney cards, with a pair of Minnie Mouse 1/1s having raked in bigger financial windfalls.

2. 1931 Wills’s Cinema Stars 3rd Series #24 Walt Disney/Mickey Mouse
In 1901, more than a dozen British tobacco companies merged to form the Imperial Tobacco Company to combat the potential international reach of the American Tobacco Company. In the 1930s, there was renewed interest in the United Kingdom for tobacco cards, and in 1931, the ITC included cards of cinema stars in packs of W.D. & W.O. Wills cigarettes. Today, the most prominent card from the series pictures a dapper young artist alongside his most famous character – Walt Disney and Mickey Mouse. A PSA 9 example of the card sold for $40,838.22 at Goldin in October 2023.

1. 2023 Topps Chrome UK Disney 100 Years of Wonder Superfractors 1/1 #1
To celebrate Disney’s 100th anniversary, Topps launched a special Topps Chrome set in the United Kingdom in 2023. Naturally, the checklist led off with Mickey Mouse’s first Topps Chrome card, and the 1/1 Superfractor parallel sold in a transaction at Alt for $500,000 on October 30, 2024. At the time, the card was tied for 16th among the highest-selling Topps Chrome cards of all-time. The other 15 all came from either the NBA or F1 racing, which helps showcase Mickey Mouse’s broad appeal.
