The Most Valuable Buzz Lightyear Trading Cards
As soon as Andy unwrapped his Buzz Lightyear action figure in the original Toy Story film, the famed action figure voiced by Tim Allen became a beloved character as he built a bond with the existing toys in bedroom — even if he thought he was a real space ranger who crash-landed in his quest to defeat Emperor Zurg.
Buzz and the gang have gone on many more adventures as the Toy Story universe expanded with more feature films, shorts, video games, and more. Considering his star status in the animated films, it’s no surprise that the most valuable Buzz Lightyear cards often double as the most expensive Toy Story cards from specific sets.
Buzz Lightyear’s roots can be traced to a popular 1988 Disney short “Tin Toy,” which featured a self-aware tin soldier who was terrorized by a baby. Original drafts for Toy Story had a character named “Tinny,” who clashed with a ventriloquist dummy named Woody, but writers and producers found it hard to believe children in 1995 would be excited about a tin solider toy as a lead character in a cutting-edge computer-animated film. Tinny evolved into Lunar Larry, who eventually transformed into the Buzz Lightyear we know and love.
Wearing a space suit with green and purple accents also helps some of Buzz Lightyear’s cards attract collectors. Color matches have long been a chase among sports cards collectors, as they try to find colorful parallels that match the colors of their favorite player’s uniform. The same can be true for Disney characters, and because Topps often produces Green and Purple parallels — such as the ones pictured above — there are plenty of Buzz Lightyear color matches to find.

5. 2024 Topps Chrome UK Disney Superfractors #64 Buzz Lightyear 1/1
Buzz Lightyear’s second base Superfractor is his most valuable. Sold by Goldin for $15,886.10 on December 29, 2024, this Superfractor was the rarest parallel from the 2024 Topps Chrome Disney product, which was originally released only in Europe. With a product release date of October 11, it didn’t take long for Buzz’s best card from the release to fly into the public eye.

4. 2026 Disney Lorcana TCG Wilds Unknown #241 Buzz Lightyear – Jungle Ranger I
There are only two Iconic cards in 2026 Disney Lorcana Wilds Unknown: Merida – Formidable Archer and Buzz Lightyear – Jungle Ranger. As the scarcest cards in the set and rendered in the Lore Nouveau style, they’ve become fast favorites among collectors — especially high-grade examples. Buzz leads the way with a pair of PSA 10 sales on eBay on June 9, 2026 — each for $16,000. As of this writing, there have been 15 other sales of this card that reached at least $10,000.

3. 2024 Topps Chrome UK Sapphire Edition Disney Padparadscha #64 Buzz Lightyear 1/1
Disney and Pixar characters got their first taste of the Topps Chrome Sapphire treatment in 2024. Designed with gem-like accents throughout the cards, collectors light up with glee when the pink shimmer of a 1/1 Padparadscha parallel pops out of a pack of otherwise blue base cards. Buzz Lightyear’s debut Padparadscha sold for $18,000 via a best offer on eBay on August 14, 2025.

2. 2023 Kakawow Phantom Disney 100 Years of Wonder Gold #PDIB11 Buzz Lightyear /10
Collectors couldn’t help but get excited when Kakawow released a full-blown licensed Disney product on chromium stock. Chrome Disney cards have become standard in today’s market dominated by Topps, but Kakawow started the trend back in 2023 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Disney. A special Gold insert (/10) landed once every 500 packs, and a PSA 10 example of Buzz Lightyear’s card sold via an eBay best-offer price of $19,998 on July 8, 2023.

1. 2025 Topps Chrome Sapphire Edition Disney Authentic Autographs Padparadscha #AATA Tim Allen 1/1
One reason Toy Story has such a following is because of its star-studded cast of voice actors, including Tim Allen, who voices Buzz Lightyear. To give some “life” to animated characters, Topps often places voice actor signatures on cards of specific characters. The combination of Allen’s signature and a “Not today Zurg” inscription makes Buzz Lightyear’s 2025 Topps Chrome Sapphire Autographs Padparadscha 1/1 his most valuable card at $20,000 (eBay best offer on November 25, 2025).
