Golden State Warriors 2015 NBA Championship Ring

By Ryan Cracknell | Hobby Editor

To kick off the 2015-16 season, the Golden State Warriors had a little business to attend to — raising a banner to the rafters. While that will hang in the Oracle Arena for decades to come, players and coaches got to take home a little something for themselves. And the Golden State Warriors 2015 NBA Championship rings shouldn’t disappoint.

The team received their rings in a ceremony before Stephen Curry scored 40 points and the Warriors handily beat the New Orleans Pelicans in their season opener.

Produced by Jason of Beverly Hills, each of the rings uses more than 250 diamonds and other precious metal and stones to tell the team’s story.

The most noticeable part of the Golden State Warriors 2015 NBA Championship ring is the top. It’s done to recreate the team’s logo. But there are several elements embedded within it. The gold is 67 percent to represent the team’s 67 wins in 2014-15. The 240 diamonds that surround the center of the ring match the number of wins the current ownership group has won since taking over. The top of the ring also has 16 princess diamonds for the number of postseason wins it took to earn the title.

Individual rings for players have their number. Coaches and key staff have abbreviations of their titles instead.

Four stones in the ring can only be seen under a black light. This symbolizes the four NBA Championships the Warriors have won in their history.

The two side panels of the Warriors championship ring also have several features. One has “2015 Golden State Warriors” engraved in the center part. The players’ numbers are worked into the 2015 as is the team’s “W,” which is highlighted in gold. This side is also personalized with the player’s name.

The other panel reads, “World Champions.” There’s an image of the players’ hands holding the NBA Championship trophy, which is in gold as well.

The outside of the ring and the inside are designed to resemble Oracle Arena. “JUST US” is also engraved on the inside band, a nod to the squad’s mantra that’s said during huddles.
