Panini’s 2016-17 Impeccable release did not hold back. The manufacturer highlighted veterans, retired players, and included rookie autographs. Bumping up the chase, Panini added jersey autographs and Holo gold, silver, platinum with a side of “elegance”.
Ripping the 2016-17 packs, one could truly claim bad luck if they didn’t hit a valued chase card. Hobby boxes had five autos or a Precious Metal card with four autographed cards, two base cards, and one parallel or Precious Metal card.
Autos on the Elegance Retired crew included George Gervin, Ray Allen, Kurt Thomas, Kenny Smith, Rashard Lewis, and Chauncey Billups – all in short print of 99. In the Auto-Holo Gold section, add Alonzo Mourning, Allen Iverson, and David Robinson to the aforementioned group and drop the print run to 10 adding to the value.
Another cool piece to the set, the Indelible Ink subset of 50 players. The runs ranged from 75 on players like Dominque Wilkins and Dennis Rodman to 99 on Sidney Moncrief and Alex English.
In the Impeccable Stats Autographs section, it was a who’s who of NBA legends: Kobe Bryant (/81), Jerry West (63), Tracy McGrady (62), Shaquille O’Neal (61), Larry Bird (60), Magic Johnson (24), and Stephen Curry (13). The raw value for the Bryant runs from $6,000 to $12,000 outpacing the pack.

The Player Behind the Card
Curry was a first round pick, seventh overall, in the 2009 NBA Draft out of Davidson. Flashes of what was to come shined through during Curry’s first three seasons with Golden State, but since the 2012-13 season, he has helped change the modern game.
Curry’s smooth, and quick stroke, from behind the arc has morphed the NBA’s offensive philosophy from a team orientation looking to get the ball inside the paint, one-on-one, or triangle-ball flow to looking for open opportunities from 3-point land.
Playing a full season, 2019-20 aside, Curry has never shot below 38 percent from deep. In his 16 seasons, 13 of those years he’s hit at a clip of 40 percent or better with a personal best of 45 percent or better three times (2011-12, 2012-13, 2015-16). Curry holds the record for most 3-pointers made (4,058), most 3-pointers in a season (402), and set the record for most consecutive games with a 3-pointer made (268).
Some of Curry’s other achievements include 11-time NBA All-Star, two-time NBA Most Valuable Player (2015, 2016), and four-time NBA champion (2015, 2017, 2018, 2022).
