2016 Topps Star Wars: Rogue One Mission Briefing Monday is a spinoff of sorts for the main set. However, there’s a bit of a twist in that it’s another one of Topps’ online-exclusive, print-on-demand products.

Leading up to Rogue One‘s release, a new small group of cards was released each week on the Topps website. Each was available for seven days at a cost of $19.99 ($24.99 for the first week, which had an extra card). Only when that time is up were the cards be printed and production runs released.

Typically, each weekly group of 2016 Topps Star Wars: Rogue One Mission Briefing Monday has five cards. However, to kick things off, the first set had six. These were based on digital cards created for Entertainment Weekly magazine, although the design is a little different. While they have new characters and creatures, the design is a throwback to the original 1977 Topps Star Wars set.

Characters, aliens, locations and weapons are all part of the master Mission Briefing Monday set.

This is the first print-on-demand release from Topps dedicated solely to Star Wars. There was a small set of cards a few months earlier in 2016 Topps Throwback Thursday, although that was a one-off. Every other week has been focused on baseball.
