Where Is the Release Date for the Set of Sports Cards I Love?
Manufacturers announce details for their products at different intervals. Currently, Topps and Panini go public with their plans one or two months in advance. So if you don’t at least see a release date above, there’s a good chance it’s at least a couple of months away.
Until recently, Topps revealed their release dates and information around six months out. That appears to have changed as Fanatics takes over more of the day-to-day.
Upper Deck’s sports card release dates are usually several months out as well. That said, these often change and, historically, get pushed back.
If a set isn’t listed above, that does not mean that it isn’t happening. This is especially true for established brands that have been around for many years. It’s more likely that the set simply hasn’t been announced yet.
Why Do Sports Card Release Dates Change and Get Delayed?
Manufacturers don’t typically give specific reasons why release dates get pushed back. Not every set is the same, as well. Autographs are one of the culprits. If one of the companies has a set almost ready to go and are expecting some significant or significant number of autographs to be returned shortly, a release date might shift to reduce the number of redemptions. Card companies don’t like them, either.
Supply chain issues are still causing some havoc. Some of the materials needed for modern sports cards have been in short supply. While things seem to be improving, the manufacturers and printers are still clawing their way back to a normal schedule. The hobby’s growth has also meant more demand for production facilities as well with some sets getting larger print runs.
These are just a couple of reasons why the sports card release calendar if constantly shifting.
When will the 2019 Beckett Baseball Price Guide #41 be released?

Hey! Any word on 2019 Topps MLB Gallery? I know it is the Walmart exclusive and it was released in November last year. I can’t seem to find anything about it as of this date.
@Veronica – When it’s announced, it’ll be added. Pretty safe bet, though, as there were Preview inserts elsewhere this year.

Any idea why the Upper Deck Avengers Endgame/ Captain Marvel cards got pushed to end of February from January?
@David – Delays are pretty normal for a lot of entertainment sets. Lots of levels of approval, autograph collection, etc.

@Sean – Nothing has been announced. It looks like there was a Topps Now card from the end of January. Not sure if that hints at anything further.

Thanks to answer about marvel Endgame cards. It does have the best looking auto inserts to date. Now it’s gone from February to March 18 2020. I hope it doesn’t change again. really want these cards!

How do you know which retail store products will be released at? For ex: the 19-20 panini mosaic basketball blasters. I wasn’t aware blaster boxes were going to be sold at Target. I’m new to collecting.

@Tim – We post hobby release dates. Retail can vary by product, sometimes showing up a little earlier, sometimes a while later. It can also vary by location.
New to the scene. When do the base set of NFL panini cards usually drop during the year? Will this 2021 release date be later in relation to years past?
@James – A standalone “Panini Football” set doesn’t always appear each year. Score, Donruss and Prizm are probably the closest annual releases. All are out. Two things: I think the prizm premier league release date got pushed back again to the 30th, and secondly would you guess the optic or donruss/optic products will be realesed this year for soccer?

The most recent soccer products have been 2020-21 releases, even the most recent ones from the last month or two. When 2021-22 sets start getting announced, they’ll be added.

This is always one of the first releases for 2022 football, usually released in June. I do not see anything regarding this release anywhere on your site, or any other site. Do you know when/if this will be released? I hope it has not been discontinued.

I am dismayed that nothing has been mentioned about 2023 Topps Heritage baseball. It’s the only thing I collect, and if it’s not going to be here this year, I’m going to have a boring baseball season.

Hey quick question…does anyone know when 2022 UFC Chronicles will be priced and available in the online price guide?

What is the biggest difference with Topps, now that Fanatics bought them out? I saw an article from 2022 that said the hobby was down…but it looks like Topps prices are still at an all time high, especially with hobby boxes. It still blows my mind how expensive boxes can be and how little a seller can get for return on numbered cards. If anyone enjoys numbers, just run some stat probability equations to see what the odds of receiving a numbered auto of a specific player are….how many cases would you have to buy to guarantee a hit…try six figures.
With the issuance of 2022-23 TOPPS CHROME UEFA CLUB COMPETITIONS in June, will there also be a Sapphire release of this product? Thank you.
