When Shohei Ohtani takes the field, the “what will he do next” mentality comes from an admiring fanbase. The five-time NPB All-Star has replicated his early professional success in Major League Baseball earning three MVPs (2021, 2023, 2024), four All-Star selections, and a World Series championship with the Dodgers last fall. The accomplishments coupled with unique card releases from Topps has the hobby buzzing.

There are a lot of amazing Ohtani cards on the market, some of the sweeter ones are in the 2024 Topps 50/50 Ohtani Dynasty subset.

There is no shortage of Ohtani cards coming from Topps in the 2024 release: 206 Wood Stock, 2026 Sweet Caporal Black, 206 Ty Cobb Back #198 Shohei Otani, 206 Polar Bear Back, #500 Shohei Otani, ’89 Topps The Real One #89B16, and ’89 Topps Silver Pack Chrome Superfractors #T89C73 are just a few of the many.

The 50/50 feat was marked with not 50 different cards but #1 through #108. The next tier gets better.

Autograph Relic cards (/99), Autograph Relic Black Foil (/10), Autograph Relic Foilfractors (/1), and Autograph Relic Gold Foil (/50) are some of the short prints in high demand.

Taking a jump in price point, the variations of the 2024 Topps 50/50 Ohtani Dynasty Autograph Relics #SOD-3 Shohei Ohtani range in value from $173,240, as sold at a Goldin Auction on Feb. 22, to $1.067 million at a Heritage Auction on March 30.

Going back in time; on Sept. 19, 2024, against the Florida Marlins, Ohtani put on a show going 6-for-6 with a single, two doubles, three home runs, and drove in 10 with two stolen bases being the first to eclipse the 50/50 milestone.

Owning a Piece of History: The pictured Ohtani card has a tag-relic from the batting glove worn when he hit his 50th home run and the second relic is from his pants he wore in his record-breaking game against the Marlins.

I love collecting his cards.. but a a BGS 10 Black label is hard to get already! Add on a 1/1 Auto BGS 10!!! O yeah and it’s Shohei Ohtani!! I’m one of the biggest collectors in the world of Shohei! And I’ll be selling my collection soon also! Most likely on here. 4,000 Shohei Ohtani cards! All different cards! No duplicates!!
