Shohei Ohtani Autographs in 2018 Bowman Baseball? Indeed.

Last week Topps teased a peek at an autograph signing they had with Shohei Ohtani. Cards were being signed, but they didn’t say where they’d be found. Now we know where some of them are going.

2018 Bowman Baseball.

The card maker took to Instagram to show off close-ups of a pair of Bowman Chrome Blue Refractors. Note the two styles of signatures.

Shortly thereafter, Topps did confirm that they would indeed be found in 2018 Bowman and not a later Bowman set.

2018 Bowman Baseball is scheduled to release towards the end of April.

Collectors will also find another Bowman Chrome Shohei Ohtani autograph in 2018, this time showing him batting. It looks as though this one will be part of September’s 2018 Bowman Chrome.

These weren’t the only cards Ohtani autographed during the signing. His reps showed off some other cards presumably for 2018 Topps Chrome and a mini card for 2018 Topps Allen & Ginter Baseball.

Topps isn’t the only company with Ohtani autographs on the way. Panini has some starting with 2018 Donruss Baseball. Leaf also has autographs from the Japanese star planned for 2017 Leaf Pearl.

I don’t like how they stamped the serial numbers on the front. It takes away from the photo, imo

Anybody betting the same photo will be used on bowman and panini. Just different airbrushing. Saw so much of that crap in 2017. Same card different company. We want variations of different companies!!

Wow, I can’t imagine pulling one of these. I love the CAA photo, too … always a big fan of when companies pull back the curtain a bit so that we can see the process.

I didn’t get caught up in the hype of Pujols, Strasburg, and Judge, so I won’t be chasing these cards either. Collect what you like and you won’t be disappointed!
