Serena Williams is the latest athlete to sign an exclusive autograph deal with Upper Deck and their memorabilia arm, Upper Deck Authenticated.
The contract covers multiple years. With it, Upper Deck will release a variety of limited edition items with Williams’ signature and image. While there’s the familiar things like autographed photos, it also embraces her place as one of tennis’ biggest stars with tennis balls, tennis dresses and racquets.
Prices for Serena Williams Upper Deck Authenticated items currently start at $799.99 for a signed Sport Illustrated cover reproduction and a limited edition print titled, “History Has Been Served.”
From there, they go all the way up to $9,999.99 for a pair of Nike Air Jordan sneakers signed by Williams and Michael Jordan.
Besides Williams, the Upper Deck roster of exclusives currently includes Jordan, LeBron James, Ben Simmons, Wayne Gretzky, Connor McDavid and Tiger Woods.
As far as cards go, Williams doesn’t have a lot of autograph cards out there, although the number has grown in the past couple of years. Recently, she’s signed for both Leaf and Panini. Several years ago, Williams had autographs in a handful of NetPro products as well as 2008 Topps Allen & Ginter. 2018 Upper Deck Goodwin Champions will have Serena Williams autograph cards as well.
Her regular cards date back to 1999.
