Phillies' Roy Halladay fires second postseason no-hitter in MLB history
If you had any doubts about 2010 being The Year of the Pitcher, Roy Halladay should have erased them Wednesday evening in Philadelphia.
The Phillies’ ace no-hit the Cincinnati Reds in Game 1 of the NLDS — just one walk shy of throwing his second perfect game of the season — and threw just the second postseason no-hitter in MLB history, winning 4-0.
Not bad for his first postseason start in a Phillies uniform, eh?
And now that you might want some of his cardboard, did you know Halladay appears on a total of 3,325 baseball cards — 288 of them autographed and 642 game-used memorabilia cards?
The best of his five Rookie Cards is his 1997 Bowman Chrome card (right) valued at $25, while his first certified autograph card, which is found in the 1995 Signature Rookies Tetrad set, sells for $40.
