Longtime sports card dealer Joe Ruocco, owner of Rock’s Dugout, is celebrating his 40th year in business as one of the preeminent sports card stores in Wichita, Kan.

Ruocco, a New York native, started his business in the basement of a Wichita bowling alley and is an institution in Wichita where now a new generation of collectors come in to talk and buy from Joe.

Ruocco was a schoolteacher in Wichita from 1969-2003 while also running the shop. His personal collection of 30,000 cards was his first inventory.

Check out Ruocco’s Facebook live interview with the Wichita Eagle where he recounts his beginnings in the industry.
