By Susan Lulgjuraj | Contributing Editor
Gold Standard Basketball is coming back for its sophomore campaign.
With Panini America’s release of 2011-12 Gold Standard Basketball just a couple of months away, it’s time to get a closer look at some of the cards in the product.
Collectors can expect some of last year’s features back such as 14K gold discs embedded in cards or 14K gold trading cards. But Panini is offering even more to make 2011-12 Gold Standard Basketball even more successful. (Need a checklist for last year’s set or an OPG? Click here.)
Beckett had a first look at Gold Standard in April. But here are more preview pictures to enjoy.

Good looking stuff. That Durant is just filthy.
how about instead of putting in gold, they take the gold and hire someone with a little creativity in the designing process…
Looks pretty good-diddly-ood!!
Looks like the same old stuff from last year..
i think the design is outstanding, man i whis they had a baseball contract, this could give triple threads a run for there money, maybe Tribute too.
looks better than last years… but how many redemptions are going to be thrown in the mix?
Is the price per pack/box going to increase this year? Can’t wait for some of the singles to hit the internet, so I can pick them up for a fraction what it would cost to buy a few boxes..
I love the secondary market!!
like the looks of them but will wait and see what the pricing is on the singles
