Pokemon Expedition Base Set Checklist Card List

The Pokémon Expedition Base Set checklist is the first to feature e-Cards. It introduced a complete redesign, including a Dot Code for use with a Nintendo e-Reader. It was a novel idea that allowed players to scan the cards to view Pokédex data or play tunes and minigames. While the e-Reader was a flop outside of Japan, collectors still flock to this set, in part because of its level of interactability, which today’s cards don’t offer.

Is the Pokémon TCG Expedition set worth collecting now?

The most significant change that came with the Pokémon TCG Expedition Base Set was the redesign. The e-Series cards tend to be rarer than previous sets, so they tend to command a higher price. The game was seeing a dip in popularity when Expedition was released in 2002. Additionally, many players weren’t as careful when sliding them through the e-Reader, which further reduces the number of mint and near-mint examples of these cards.

If you happen upon e-Series cards, including the Expedition expansion, at a low price, snatch them up. The three sets that make up this series are already skyrocketing in price, and they’re only going to keep going up.
