Pokémon TCG EX Delta Species Checklist: Full DS Card List

The EX Delta Species set represents a marked shift in the Pokémon TCG’s EX era. It explores new regions but also creates new possibilities for what can constitute a Pokémon card. It was released in October 2005 as the 11th English Pokémon TCG-EX publication. Instead of giving us another take on Johto, it focuses on Holon, an R&D city exclusive to Pokémon TCG, and the Holon Research Tower, as well as the strange Pokémon it produces.
The hallmark of this set is the appearance of the Δ Delta Species Pokémon cards. These cards feature unusual Pokémon bearing the delta mark with cards bordered by a characteristic double-helical pattern. Instead of being Dark- or Fighting-type, a Tyranitar takes on the Metal/Fire dual type, and Dragonite takes the Metal/Lightning dual type instead of the typical Colorless type. The overall effect is a pool of cards that looks normal but plays totally differently because it has been reordered in terms of its type and weaknesses.
Holon itself is present in the card list in Holon Supporter cards and in Holon’s Pokémon engine, which includes Holon’s Electrode and Holon’s Magneton, playable either as Pokémon or Special Energy.
What to Expect in the Pokémon TCG EX Delta Species Set
The set revolves around the Rare Holo ex cards of Flareon ex, Jolteon ex, and Vaporeon ex, placed on top of their Delta Species evolutions. On top of the chase lineup are the Gold Star cards: Groudon, Kyogre, and Metagross that occupy the spots 111-113 and become the hottest pull among the entire Holon block cards. The sole Secret Rare Azumarill is placed at 114/113.
From a gameplay perspective, a significant number of Pokémon are featured as δ Delta Species, which adds unusual type combinations that impact existing cards. Holon Energy cards and the Holon trainers add more support for that theme, giving decks a reason to lean into the experimentation instead of treating the gimmick as a minor variant.
EX Delta Species is definitely the on-ramp for collectors looking for a standalone representation of the Holon series. Smaller than many others released at the same time, EX Delta Species packs many variant cards, ex cards, and Gold Stars, as are typical of the mid-2000s style.
