Pokémon TCG Diamond & Pearl Checklist: Full DP Card List

Pokémon TCG Diamond & Pearl was released in English on May 23, 2007. It marks the debut of fourth-generation Pokémon in the game, as well as the first expansion of the Diamond & Pearl series. It also represents the first time that the region of Sinnoh became a permanent addition to the TCG’s normal card pool, after the EX series concluded.
Diamond & Pearl is unique because of its reset feel. Both Dialga and Palkia are presented as the main legendary cards in the set, and the holographic line-up consists of the Sinnoh staples such as Empoleon, Infernape, Torterra, Luxray, and Lucario. In addition to the base set, there were three pre-constructed theme decks introduced at launch called Terra Firma, Inferno Zone, and Royal Frost.
One of the most significant aspects of Diamond & Pearl, however, is the way that it altered the mechanics and card composition of the game. The introduction of Pokémon LV.X is a key feature that allows a player to add additional effects to a Pokémon without having to replace the original card that is already on the field. Additionally, this is when Poison-Type Pokémon were shifted from Grass to Psychic, and it’s also when the types of Supporters and Stadiums were classified as individual card classes rather than just as Trainer cards.
What to Expect in the Pokémon TCG Diamond & Pearl Set
Booster packs move to a 10-card format with this set. The reverse holographic design will be different from the previous EX series designs. The foil treatment of the reverse holographic design covers the majority of the card surface, but leaves the artwork area clear of foil, allowing the reverse to be easily identifiable by its lack of foil coverage, even if it is a common pull.
From a collecting standpoint, the top-end of the set is broken into two parts: the standard rare holo cards and the three LV.X cards: Empoleon LV.X, Infernape LV.X, and Torterra LV.X. There is no secret-rare numbering scheme in this set. So, completing the set will primarily involve locating clean copies of the base cards and then deciding how many reverse holographic cards you wish to complete.
