Seeing as how this is the season for epic 2010-11 hockey products, we couldn’t resist following a friendly lead from  Panini America‘s twitter account about its oh-so-soon-to-drop Dominion brand.

Roughly three hours ago, the company electronically announced, “Huge day. Heading to the printing facility to chronicle the packout for 2010-11 Dominion Hockey!” For the hobbyists who just saw the release of Upper Deck’s The Cup, Panini’s current packout tells another tale of cardboard whales.

The following visual timeline should speak volumes about the competing premium newcomer. Stay tuned for more images and higher-quality scans as they become available.

11:00 a.m. (CST) - Panini provides a look at ready-to-pack patches.

11:06 a.m. (CST) - A hard-signed Derek-Stepan patch card is spotted at the printing facility.

11:22 a.m. (CST) - An array of 1/1 Kindest Cuts inserts are readied for review.

11:30 a.m. (CST) - Panini preludes another gallery with a plethora of Dominion hits.

12:02 p.m. (CST) - An appropriately named Mammoth memorabilia card featuring Taylor Hall is added for good measure.

they will get the redemptions out of the closet storage area soon & decide which ones to designate as ‘redemptions’

I would rather have that Stepan “Jersey” than the plethora of single colored “patches” in the cup and other UD products. As far as redemptions go, The Cup has Seguin and Hall as redemptions, plus most of the Gretzky’s, AND they didn’t even manage to get the dual scripted swatches Crosby/Lemieux that they were pushing so hard.

    Haters gonna hate.

This is some good looking stuff, those Cup patches in the picture up top are sweet.
