Until his no-hitter against the Blue Jays, James Paxton was flying under a lot of radars in hobby circles. But the historic game shouldn’t come as that much of a surprise given that it was his follow-up to a masterful 16-strikeout performance.

Does two starts make for an elite pitcher? No, but if you look back over the past couple of years there’s a case to be made that Paxton is now Seattle’s ace.

For those looking to collect James Paxton stuff, cards are nice (his first Bowman Chrome autograph came in 2012). But what if you’re looking for something a little different?

Like the official James Paxton fanny pack.

Yes, Big Maple has a fanny pack. And it’s selling for more than you might think.

The Mariners handed out the James Paxton fanny pack as a stadium giveaway before their May 5 game against the Los Angeles Angels.

It was part of a ’90s-themed night that included one of the best lineup announcements ever (at least for those of us who grew up playing video games in the ’90s).

A total of 10,000 fanny packs were given away to fans as they entered Safeco Field. With more than 35,000 in attendance, lots missed out (Editor’s Note: I was one of them).

The stadium giveaway is actually pretty classy looking, even outside the somewhat ironic fanny pack scale. But the ’90s dad relics are actually back in fashion, popping up in malls across America and around the world once again.

But this fanny pack is just a novelty, right? Nope. It has been selling consistently for $30 and up on eBay so far. Not a lot are listed, either.

By comparison, the Mariners gave away Kyle Seager bobbleheads the night before, which crossed the collectible streams coming in with a Star Wars theme. Most of these have been closing in the $20 to $25 range.

The big question is, do you wear a fanny pack?
