The Next Pokemon TCG Pocket Expansion Will Finally Let You Catch Up On Your Collection

The next Pokémon TCG Pocket expansion will handle things a bit differently. This time it’ll be made up of cards from previous sets instead of featuring new ones. As such, the A4b set is likely intended to allow players to complete collecting some of the earlier sets before the big update DeNA promised is released in the game.
The Pokémon TCG Pocket A4b expansion will feature cards from previous sets
The existence of the new Pokémon TCG Pocket A4b expansion was accidentally revealed by the official Japanese X account. The full teaser trailer was posted before being pulled down. However, the damage was already done.
The trailer revealed that the Japanese name for A4b will be “High Class Pack EX.” However, we doubt that it’ll be the English name for the set. In Japan, Pokémon cards come in several types of packs (similar to Magic: The Gathering), one of which is the High Class pack. However, the High Class reference would be lost on players outside of Japan, as there’s only one type of retail pack available everywhere else.
There wasn’t much solid information in the trailer, but it did reveal a mechanic unique to this set. A4b packs will contain four cards instead of five, but one of them is guaranteed to be at least a four-diamond card (equivalent to a Double Rare physical card). This should give players who are trying to complete their A-series sets a boost.
Players are theorizing that the High Class Pack EX expansion will be the last in the A-series before the big Mega Evolution update makes its debut. Whether or not these cards will continue to be legal in Ranked Battles is a point of debate within the community.
