The 2025 NBA Playoffs has kept fans on their heels with four series upsets and exciting high-profile player matchups. As both Eastern and Western Conference Finals begin this week, the showdown between No. 1 Oklahoma City Thunder and No. 6 seed Minnesota Timberwolves is destined to move the needle of card sales on secondary markets.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (SAG) just overcame a big obstacle in three-time NBA MVP Nikola Jokić with the Denver Nuggets and now faces a tough athletic draw in Minnesota. SAG put together his third consecutive 30-plus point per game regular season average getting collectors hyped about his cards. His playoff averages have not been too far off his 76-game 2024-25 output averaging 29 points, 5.9 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game.
Over in Minnesota, the fifth-year pro out of Georgia continued to evolve his game kicking up his points per game average from 25.9 to 27.6 in the regular season. Anthony Edwards has been efficient in the Timberwolves’ 10 postseason games this year averaging 26.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 5.9 assists per game.
Things to Watch in the Matchup
OKC flew through the first round of the playoffs dismissing Memphis in four games but then got pushed to seven against the Nuggets. Gilgeous-Alexander has not shot the 3-ball well in the postseason hitting at a 29.3 percent clip. Will those young legs find the rhythm to get those needed buckets in this pivotal series?
The T-Wolves are about as fresh as it gets going 4-1 against the Lakers and against Golden State. In the series close out game against the Lakers, Ant Man had a night to forget from behind the arc going 0-11 but has rebounded from that outlying performance. Still, Edwards is hitting at 38.5 percent from 3-point land and 44.5 percent from the field.
When the intensity is turned on, which go-to player will step up for their squad?

To no surprise, Ant Man and SAG rookie cards have been moving at a great rate during the playoffs, especially Edwards. For Edwards, just about anything Panini 2020-21 Anthony Edwards is selling: Select, Illusions, Prizm, Emergent, Chronicles, and Donruss. Base 2020-21 #258 Panini Prizm Edwards’ cards raw are selling at $13 with the parallel Red Ruby Wave landing $107.99.
A 2020-21 Panini Prizm #258 Anthony Edwards Silver RC PSA 10 sold for $979.99.
For SAG rookie cards, collectors have all the same Panini brands to go after and NBA Hoops. In a disparity in sale price, two different 2018-19 Panini Select Concourse SAG cards sold for $9 and $25 during eBay auctions, and from the same seller.
The Timberwolves vs. Thunder series starts Tuesday night airing at 8:30 p.m. ET on ESPN. The Thunder are favored by 7.5 points in the best of seven series opener.
