First two Allen & Ginter Manny Pacquiao autograph sales pack serious punch

By Chris Olds | Beckett Baseball Editor

More than a few collectors might be seeking Manny Pacquiao‘s first certified autograph out of packs of 2011 Topps Allen & Ginter.

But based on the first completed sale price for the card on eBay — and a second sale for even more — it’s apparent that more than a few collectors just might not be able to afford one.

The first cards of the Filipino superstar to sell via best offer on eBay Wednesday fetched a bit of money via a Buy It Now offer of $575.

Interestingly, the second card offered sold for even more.

Wait it out and the price will drop…I have a 2006 A/G auto of Kobayashi the hot dog eating champ that initially was going for $300+ but now has a BV of only $120…still kick myself I didnt sell it back then

Kobayashi is a hot dog eater. We’re talking one of the greatest boxers of all time here…lol. His auto is going up before it goes down.

I thought this card would sell for $1,000 when it first came out. The first guy totally undersold the card. One of the greatest fighters of all-time and this is not only his first auto but first cards. It looks like the print run is very low, so I suggest if you want one, get it now before people realize how rare and valuable it really is. Ginter will always be his first and best auto, even if he signs again. I hope in 2012 A&G gets Usain Bolt. He was supposed to be in 2008 Topps Mayo, but was pulled at the last moment.
