Malcolm Butler gets first football card in Topps’ Super Bowl commemorative set
By Chris Olds | Beckett Sports Card Monthly Editor
An undrafted rookie out of a small school made perhaps the biggest play of the biggest game of the season on Sunday.
And now he’ll have his first football card.
Patriots safety Malcolm Butler is one of two bonus cards — the other being Super Bowl XLIX MVP Tom Brady — to be had for collectors who pick up the deluxe edition of the Topps Super Bowl commemorative set that went on sale Tuesday only on Topps.com.
The set of 5-by-7 cards will be limited to only 49 serial-numbered copies for the deluxe edition using the 1985 Topps design. It will cost $29.99. The standard version, which will not include the Butler card — though he is among the 10 standard cards with his key play being a highlight — is $19.99 and not limited.
