T’Challa, the Black Panther

The face commander is T’Challa, the Black Panther, a three mana 2/2 in green and white who does two things that feed each other.

Whenever he enters or attacks, you create a tapped Vibranium token, which is an indestructible artifact that taps for one colorless mana you can only spend on artifact spells or abilities.

And whenever you cast an artifact spell with mana value four or greater, T’Challa gets two +1/+1 counters. Read those together and the game plan writes itself. You make Vibranium, spend it on big artifacts, watch your commander balloon, swing, and make more Vibranium.

It is a ramp engine and a threat stapled onto one cheap body.

Shuri, the Black Panther

Shuri is a two mana 2/3 with lifelink who rewards you for flooding the board with artifacts. Attack with three or more out and you draw a card, and with six or more your whole team gets +2/+2 until end of turn.

Same artifact shell, a lower curve, and a card advantage lean instead of a voltron one. New players get two very different decks in one box.

Build the Vibranium Engine

Everything starts with mana. T’Challa’s tokens are the backbone, but the deck backs them up with a strong ramp package.

Birds of Paradise and Solemn Simulacrum are the reliable early plays, Gilded Lotus and Thran Dynamo pour out extra mana for your heaviest artifacts, and Sword of the Animist fetches lands off your attacks.

The goal is to get well ahead on mana so that a four, five, or six drop artifact lands a turn or two early and immediately turns on T’Challa’s counters.

Deploy the Big Artifacts

This is where the counters pile up. Coveted Jewel draws you three cards the moment it lands and taps for three mana, a perfect T’Challa trigger even if opponents occasionally swing in to steal it.

Helm of the Host makes a token copy of your best creature at the start of every combat, and Metalwork Colossus gets cheaper as your non-creature artifacts pile up and can buy itself back from the graveyard.

Each of these clears the mana value four line, so every cast leaves T’Challa two counters larger, and the deck’s new Vibranium artifacts keep the theme rolling.

Turn the Corner

A deck this ramp heavy needs a way to actually end games, and Wakanda Forever has several.

The cleanest is a swollen T’Challa wearing Vibranium Strike Gauntlets, the new Equipment flashes in, attaches for free, and hands its creature +3/+0, trample, and a card every time it connects.

Overwhelming Stampede turns a wide board into one lethal alpha strike, and if you drew into Divine Visitation, the deck’s creature tokens, the Soldiers from a big Martial Coup especially, arrive as 4/4 flying Angels instead.

Shuri’s team wide +2/+2 does similar work from the other seat.

Refuel and Protect

Precons live and die on their answers, and this one is stocked.

Greater Good and Mind’s Eye keep your hand full, Conduit of Worlds lets you replay permanents from your graveyard after a wipe, and Generous Gift, Beast Within, and Vanquish the Horde cover the removal you will need against a table of other Commander decks.

Keep the artifacts flowing and the threats protected, and T’Challa does the rest.
