Welcome back! With the full reveal of the Lorwyn Eclipsed Commander decks, Blight Curse and Dance of the Elements, players are scrambling to find the best upgrades.

The trend this week is if a card works perfectly with the new decks but wasn’t reprinted in them, it is exploding in price. We are seeing huge buyouts on older cards that synergize with -1/-1 counters and Elementals.

Here are the biggest winners and losers for the week of January 19, 2026.

Hot List

Quillspike

While everyone was watching the rares, this uncommon from Eventide quietly quadrupled this week.

Quillspike is a classic combo piece that has found new life thanks to the Special Guests sheet in Lorwyn Eclipsed.

Here is the breakdown: Devoted Druid was confirmed as a Special Guest reprint in the new set. For years, Quillspike and Devoted Druid have been best friends.

You tap the Druid for green mana, put a -1/-1 counter on it to untap it, and then pay that green mana into Quillspike to remove the counter and give it +3/+3. You can repeat this loop infinitely to make a Quillspike with infinite power.

With Devoted Druid becoming accessible again, players are rushing to grab the other half of the combo. Since Quillspike wasn’t reprinted in the main set or the Commander decks, the supply of original Eventide copies is drying up fast.

Maha, Its Feathers Night

It’s not just old cards spiking, recent powerhouses are moving too. Maha, Its Feathers Night from Bloomburrow has exploded in value this week.

The synergy here is nasty. Maha sets the base toughness of all opponents’ creatures to 1. The new alternate commander for the Blight Curse deck, The Reaper, King No More, wants you to kill creatures with -1/-1 counters on them so you can steal them.

Do you see the combo?

If Maha is on the board, placing a single -1/-1 counter on an opponent’s creature reduces its toughness to 0 instantly.

It dies, and thanks to The Reaper, it comes back under your control. This turns every put a counter effect into a destroy and steal effect.

The market realized this interaction immediately, draining the supply of cheap copies overnight.

  • Price Movement: $9 to $45

Grave Sifter

While the Jund players are fighting over counters, the Temur players are looking at the Dance of the Elements deck. This deck focuses heavily on the Elemental creature type and the Evoke mechanic.

Enter Grave Sifter, a forgotten card from Commander 2014. It allows each player to choose a creature type and return any number of cards of that type from their graveyard to their hand.

In a normal game, this is Group Hug symmetry. But in an Elemental deck filled with cards like Mulldrifter and Shriekmaw that sacrifice themselves for value, this is a one-sided mass resurrection.

You get back 10 cards, your opponents might get back one. The market realized this interaction overnight, and since the card has almost no reprint history, it shot up over 1,400 percent.

  • Price Movement: $.50 to $13

Obelisk Spider

We are back to the -1/-1 counter synergy for our fourth spot. Obelisk Spider is an uncommon from Hour of Devastation that drains 1 life from an opponent whenever a -1/-1 counter is placed.

It sounds small, but in the new Blight Curse shell, this triggers constantly. It’s also a combo piece.

If you pair this with Nest of Scarabs (to make a token) and Yawgmoth, Thran Physician (to sacrifice the token and put a counter), you can drain the entire table instantly.

The spike to nearly $5 for a modern-era uncommon is wild, but it shows just how many people are building this deck.

  • Price Movement: $0.40 to $5

Cold List

Leaf-Crowned Visionary

Finally, let’s look at a card that is taking a tumble. Leaf-Crowned Visionary, the Elf Lord from Dominaria United, has dropped over 50 percent this week.

Unlike the cards above, this isn’t about synergy, it’s about supply. The Visionary has been confirmed as a reprint in the Lorwyn Eclipsed product line, appearing in the Special Guests slot or within the Commander decks depending on the variant.

This card was holding a $5-plus price tag largely due to the popularity of Elf decks and scarcity.

With a fresh wave of supply hitting the market alongside the new Elves coming in Lorwyn, the price is correcting hard. If you’ve been waiting to foil out your Elfball deck, patience has officially paid off.

  • Price Movement: $5 to $2
