Loki “Lamentis” Easter Eggs
There was a lot happening in this week’s Loki episode on Disney+. Plenty of action, truths revealed, and a possible answer to what love is. Sadly, we did miss Owen Wilson’s Mobius in this week’s episode, but Sophia Di Martino filled in nicely in his place as Lady Loki…………or did she. Obviously, there are spoilers ahead, so dip out now if you don’t want those, otherwise, let’s take a look at some Loki “Lamentis” Easter Eggs.
Where Are We?
If you’re not super familiar with Kree space then Lamentis-1 is probably a complete unknown to you as well. So, for the benefit of those unaware, Lamentis-1 is in the outer reaches of Kree space. Like, way out there. Here in 2077, it’s about to be destroyed just as Loki and “Lady Loki” have time jumped there. See what hanging out in Apocalypses will get you.
You will find the first mention of Lamentis in Annihilation: Conquest Prologue #1, which also features the first cameo appearance of the Kree Warrior, Wraith. Interestingly enough, Wraith has the soul of the Supreme Intelligence in him. I’m not saying Wraith will come into play in next week’s Loki episode, but it may be something to think about.
So That’s Not Lady Loki?
Sorry comic book speculators, but apparently, who we thought was “Lady Loki”, is actually Sylvie Lushton, the second Enchantress. So, all that spec buying you did on “Lady Loki” books may have been all for naught. Now, time to switch gears and grab those Sylvie books. Her first appearance can be found in Dark Reign: Young Avengers #1 which has seen a big uptick in recent sales.
What is Love?
During Loki and Sylvie’s train ride they enter into a deep conversation about love and Loki fondly remembers his mother, Frigga. If you haven’t picked up on it by now, Frigga may be the only person Loki truly loves. Her motherly kindness toward him seems to have struck a nerve. So, each time he reflects upon his memories of her, Loki softens. To further this theory, his reaction to her death in episode one was heartbreaking. For comic context into Frigga, you will find her first appearance in Journey into Mystery #92.
All Rise!
Just in case you were wondering, Judge Renslayer doesn’t care about Loki. When Sylvie is about to off him, Ravoona didn’t seem bothered. Keep in mind that Judge Renslayer was all about disintegrating him anyway. Apparently, Ravoona doesn’t play. She’s all business. Renslayer’s first comic appearance can be found in Avengers #23, in which she has caught the eye of Kang. It’s all good until The Conqueror wants to take you out on a date.
