Let’s KICK It: Top NFL Kicker Cards

In the hustle of the football card collecting hobby, next to the center on the last placed team in the NFC or AFC, having a kicker’s card, or worse, a punter’s card is about the last thing someone wants to see when ripping packs from any era… But give a collector one good reason and an unusual niche within the hobby is filling nine-card plastic sleeves.
For those of you who like to kick it a bit differently than the rest, we cover the top placekickers’ cards for your unique PC.
When Card Scarcity Doesn’t Drive Value
Even as robust and seemingly never-ending as modern football releases may seem, not everyone who suits up in the NFL gets a card. Take active place kicker points leader Nick Folk as an example. Per the Beckett Online Price Guide (OPG), the 17-year veteran only has 119 released cards by the various manufacturers.
After being a sixth-round pick out of Arizona by the Dallas Cowboys, Folk was featured in the 2007 sets: Leaf Limited, Playoff Contenders, SP Authentic, and Senior Bowl. Topps got to Folk in 2008 and Upper Deck added him in 2009. Folk was skipped in all sets in 2010, then added by Crown Royale in 2011. Panini gave Folk a single card in 2012, two in 2014, one in 2015, and three in 2016.
Folk didn’t get a leg up on cardboard again until 2023 when Panini showcased the kicker on 70 different cards from Donruss to Prizm, representing the bulk of his four-corners in circulation.
The most valuable card of Folk’s on the market with high-end raw mint values going up to $40 is the 2007 SP Authentic Gold #152 Folk.

“3” Worth the Value
Starting at third all-time on the kicker’s hierarchy: Gary Anderson.
Anderson has 158 total items in the OPG from his 23-year career that began in 1982 with the Pittsburgh Steelers and ended in 2004 with the Tennessee Titans. His rookie card, released by Topps in 1983 (#356), values up to $12 raw in mint condition.
Four of Anderson’s cards range in value from raw condition highs of $15 to $20. The most current in that group, the 2002 Upper Deck XL Holofoil #256 Gary Anderson with a print run of 65.
As much as people like to rib “Junk Wax Era” cards, all would love to have a complete set of the 1991 Pro Line Portraits Autographs, which values over $8,600. The 306-card set is robust and includes Anderson’s #6 in black ink. Pricing can get up to $30 raw.
Anderson Career Highlights: All-Pro (1998), second-team All-Pro (1983), four-time Pro Bowler (1983, 1985, 1993, 1998), NFL scoring leader (1998), and NFL All-Decade Team 1980s and 1990s. Connected on 35 of 35 field goals and 59 of 59 extra point attempts in 1998 regular season.
Field Goals Made: 538, third all-time
Extra points: 849, fourth all-time

Morten Andersen
While Anderson was a seventh-round pick by the Buffalo Bills, cut and signed by the Steelers, this Andersen was a fourth-round pick in 1982 by the New Orleans Saints out of Michigan State. Andersen spent his first 13 years of 25 NFL seasons in the Big Easy proving to be consistently good. Andersen led the league in FGs made once (1987) and hit at a career rate of 79.7 percent long enough to put 565 through the uprights. When Andersen retired, he was atop the all-time list with Anderson behind him at 538 made.
Collecting Andersen cards and items is an easier task with 852 listed in the OPG. Seven of Andersen’s cards top out between $40 to $50 in great raw form thanks to scarcity and autographs.

Trivia Time: Who holds the NFL record for most extra points made?
Adam Vinatieri
Resting comfortably atop the field goals made list is the pride of South Dakota, Adam Vinatieri. Undrafted out of South Dakota State (1991-94), Vinatieri caught on with the New England Patriots after a year in what is now referred to as NFL Europe (WLAF) with the Amsterdam Admirals in 1996. Twenty-four years later, he was the most accomplished place kicker ever in the NFL.
Unlike his counterparts, Vinatieri has a whole other side to his career – the postseason. Vinatieri connected on 81.2 percent of his playoff and Super Bowl kicks, nailing 56 in total. His kicking efforts helped win four Super Bowls, three with the Pats and one with the Indianapolis Colts.
Collectors can find 863 Vinatieri items in the OPG. There are six Vinatieri cards that value around $100 raw from Panini National Treasures to Playoff Prestige, Fleer Showcase, and Flair SIGnificant Cuts, all short prints.
The next five most valuable cards typically start around $100 and go sell for $250 or more.

No mention of Vinatieri’s 1997 rookie card?
The oddity, there is only one Vinatieri RC – 1997 Pacific Philadelphia #199 Adam Vinatieri RC. For the purposes of most valuable per the topic, although a cool card, there are 15-20 cards ahead of it in terms of value. Thanks for reading a commenting!
