Kobe Bryant takes mom to court over auction

By Chris Olds | Beckett Basketball Editor

Earlier this week, it was announced that a treasure trove of early Kobe Bryant memorabilia was headed to the auction block, consigned to Goldin Auctions by Bryant’s mother, Pamela.

On Thursday, Kobe Bryant filed a cease-and-desist order saying the items are his and that he doesn’t want them sold, according to a story by the Philadelphia Inquirer.

The case will head to court for a hearing on May 20.

Pamela Bryant received a $450,000 advance on the sale of 42 items that were to be auctioned in June. Among them are Kobe Bryant’s first high school jerseys, various awards and Lakers championship rings that were given to his parents.

I believe there were issues relating to when Kobe got married. Unclear, so it’s not in story. But I think the whole thing reinforces that.

I guess Kobe has time to worry about things like this when your NOT in the playoffs.

I’m sure it will be said, “It’s not about the money”………….with an advance of $450,000 Goldin Auctions was planning on making 10 times that amount.

How Rude of Kobe to spoil it for his Mom………Happy Mother’s Day!

The items that were given to his parents are their choice to do whatever, all the other things high school rings, jerseys etc. SHOULD be given to his children.
