Joseph Perez, Panini Super Bowl Kid Reporter, Makes Tom Brady Well Up

By Ryan Cracknell | Hobby Editor

Joseph Perez’s busy week has just gotten under way. The seven-year-old is representing Panini at Super Bowl LI as the company’s Super Bowl Kid Reporter.

And with one simple question at the Super Bowl opening night media gathering, Perez left New England Patriots quarterback almost speechless and with a hint of a tear in his eyes.

“Many people say you’re they’re hero, but who’s your hero,” Perez asked perched atop Trent Dilfer’s shoulders.

After taking a brief pause and repeating back the question, Brady responded that it was his father.

“He’s someone I look up to everyday.” At that point there was a long pause as Brady got visibly emotional. He closed by simply saying, “My dad.”

Perez will be covering the Super Bowl on behalf of Panini in the week ahead, interviewing players from both the Patriots and Atlanta Falcons. The young collector was selected through a season-long promotion.
